Hyundai showcased the all-electric Kona at Move: The Global Mobility Summit 2018, in New Delhi, this weekend. Hyundai said that the company is commitment to delivering ‘Shared’, ‘Connected’ and ‘Zero Emission Mobility’ in the country.

Hyundai is also open for strategic business partnerships with leading mobility service providers and car sharing start-ups.

The company also shared the idea of smart mobility solution which is based on three pillars – ‘Clean Mobility’, ‘Freedom in Mobility’ and ‘Connected Mobility’. While the first one is self explanatory, the Freedom in Mobility aims to create an environment where everyone has unlimited access to safe and convenient transportation.

As for the Connected Mobility, the company is currently developing a ‘Connected Car Program’ to link an individual’s car with other cars, their office and even the wider urban environment which according to the company, will result in greater safety and convenience.

Hyundai is one of the companies looking forward to introduce electric vehicles in India. If you remember, the company had shared an update in July saying that the Chennai plant gearing up to produce Electric Vehicles. The NEXO fuel cell EV was also showcased at India-Korea Business Summit, earlier this year.

“The Kona Electric is a true expression of Hyundai’s technological advancements in the field of Eco & Clean Mobility. I am confident that this Global Mobility Summit will herald a new era of Smart and Clean mobility in India,” said Euisun Chung, Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor Company.

The Kona Electric produces 204 hp and has a range of over 470 km. Read more about the all-electric Hyundai Kona here.
