Mahindra Marazzo launched at Rs 9.99 lakh

Mahindra has launched the Marazzo MPV with prices starting at Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom, Pan India. Variant wise (introductory) prices below –

As we read before, the name and the design too according to Mahindra, is inspired by the Shark. Design highlights and features include Shark teeth-inspired grille inserts, Shark tail-like tail lamps, Shark fin antenna, twin chamber projector headlamps with cornering feature, fog lamps with DRLs, door handles with chrome inserts, ORVM-integrated blinkers, integrated rear spoiler and 17-inch twin-spoke alloy wheels.

The dual-tone interiors feature piano black dashboard, twin-pod instrument cluster with 3D light guides, 4.2-inch color TFT driver information display, automatic climate control, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, aircraft thrust lever-like parking brake, tambour door for the centre console storage space, 2nd row sunshades and a total of 3 USB ports.

More features include 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, bluetooth connectivity & GPS navigation, cooled glove box, cruise control, 4-speakers, and roof-mounted AC vents.

As for the safety, the Marazzo gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD & Brake Assist, disc brakes at all four corners, Isofix child seat mounts as standard across all variants. Other safety features include rear parking sensors, reversing camera, speed sensing auto door lock, rear defogger, and an emergency call feature in case of a crash. The MPV has side impact beams and crumple zones for crash protection.

Powering the Innova-rival is a 1.5-litre (1497 cc) 4-cylinder diesel engine which produces 121 hp @ 3500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque @ 1750-2500 rpm. A 6-speed manual transmission sends power to the front wheels. Just to compare, the Innova is a rear-wheel drive vehicle.

As for the suspension, the Marazzo has Double Wishbone at front and Twist Beam at the rear.

Mahindra says that the Marazzo is a globally developed product, as it is designed and developed in collaboration with Mahindra North American Technical Center, Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai and the Group’s Italian design house Pininfarina.
