According to several media reports, Ford, Volvo, Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce and some other manufacturers have decided to skip the upcoming 2016 Paris Motor Show, which opens its doors to the media on Sep 29th. Besides the obvious “expensive” reasons, they feel its rather sensible to focus on the social media, blogs and the beach, because that’s where their customers would like to spend their time.

Speaking to Bloomberg, Andy Palmer, CEO, Aston Martin, said – “There used to be the feeling that you had to be at every motor show.” “But there are sometimes better ways of doing it than just always spending money on show after show after show.” He added.

BMW too wont be present at the show, because most of the executives will be at the board meeting discussing electric car strategy. And probably its not the first time Volvo had skipped an auto show, it wasn’t found at the Auto Expo earlier this year either, as it wants to market directly to the customers. While Ford is busy offering test-drives to its French customers, Rolls-Royce threw a cocktail party in Sardinia. And Lamborghini too will most likely skip the show.
