BMW-owned British marque Mini has unveiled the new Countryman ahead of Los Angeles Auto Show on Nov 16. The 2017 Mini Countryman happens to be the largest Mini the company has produced in its 57-year history, with 20 cm long and 3 cm wider than the outgoing model. The wheelbase has also been extended by 7.5 cm.
Mini calls the new Countryman as “fully-fledged 5 seater”, thanks to the increased dimensions and wheelbase. Mini says that the design tweaks have helped the new Countryman achieve a better fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions.
The new Countryman also happens to be the first model of the brand to be available with a plug-in hybrid drive. In the form of the MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 (optional all-wheel drive), it has a range of up to 40 km running on electrical power alone.
Internationally, the new Countryman is available with 4 engines with an optional all-wheel drive system.
Mini Cooper Countryman: 1499 cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine, 100 kW/136 hp, 220 Nm of torque.

The Mini Cooper S Countryman ALL4 with 8-speed Steptronic transmission sprints in 7.2 seconds from zero to 100 km/h, making it 0.9 seconds faster than the outgoing model.
As for the boot space, the 450 litres can be extended up to 1,309 litres. There is an increase of 220 litres as compared to the predecessor model.
