Vespa 946 Emporio Armani launched at Rs 12.04 lakh

Piaggio Group has launched the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani in India at Rs 12,04,970 ex-showroom, Pune, making it the most expensive scooter on sale in the country. Along with the Vespa 946 EA, Piaggio has also launched its 70th Anniversary Edition Vespa, priced at Rs 96,500 ex-showroom, Pune.

The Vespa 946 Emporio Armani was developed in 2015 in collaboration with Giorgio Armani – founder of the Italian fashion house Armani, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary and 130th birthday of the Piaggio Group. The name ‘Vespa 946’ alludes to the year 1946, the year it was first made.

Piaggio says that the metallic parts have been treated in order to convey a matte effect in line with the body finishings. The words ‘Emporio Armani’ appear on the side, while the iconic eagle logo of the brand sits above the headlight.

The Vespa 946 Emporio Armani is powered by a 125 cc 4-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine producing 11.2 hp and 10.3 Nm of torque, and is mated with a CVT. The scooter packs a full digital instrument cluster, full LED projectors and indicator lights, dual-channel ABS and ASR (Anti-Slip Regulator) traction control.

The Vespa 946 Emporio Armani rides on 12-inch wheels, and has 220 mm double disc brake. Fuel tank measures 8.5 litres. The Vespa 946 EA is coming to India via CBU route.

The Vespa 70th Anniversary edition, on the other hand, is based on the VXL model and marks the 70th anniversary of the brand. It is limited to 500 units in the country and comes with an exclusive Azurro 70 body colour, brown leather pattern seats, fly screen chrome rear carrier, chrome perimeter guard with integrated foot step for pillion and special glossy dust grey alloy wheels. You get a Vespa 70th Anniversary chrome logo on the glovebox as well.
