BMW India launches the petrol variants of its popular X3 and X5 SUVs – the X3 xDrive28i and X5 xDrive35i, priced at Rs 54.90 lakh and Rs 73.50 lakh respectively, ex-showroom, Delhi.
These two new SUVs will be locally assembled at BMW’s plant in Chennai. The X3 xDrive28i packs a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engine, producing 241 hp and 350 Nm of torque @ 1,250 – 4,800 rpm. 0 – 100 km/h happens in just 6.5 seconds. The X5 xDrive35i on the other hand packs a 3.0 litre inline six cylinder engine with an output of 306 hp and a max torque of 400 Nm @ 1,200 – 5,000 rpm. 0 – 100 km/h for the X5 xDrive35i happens in just 6.5 seconds as well. Both SUVs come with an 8 Speed Steptronic automatic transmission with Automatic Hold Function. The X5 xDrive35i gets a ‘Design Pure Experience’ package.
The X3 xDrive28i is available in four colour options: Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Deep Blue and Melbourne Red. The X5 xDrive35i can be had in Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Imperial Blue and Sparkling Brown.
While the X5 petrol gets a 10.2 inch infotainment system, iDrive with handwriting recognition, rear view camera and Harman Kardon surround sound system, the X3 petrol features a smaller 8.8 inch display, iDrive and a rear view camera.
