Video: Ford Figo Sports and Aspire Sports Edition

So, just wanted to talk a bit about the Figo and Aspire Sports edition. The Sports Edition was launched almost two weeks ago with some visual upgrades and a sports suspension. The standard Figo itself is already a fun-to-drive car, and the Sports Edition is claimed to have enhanced that sportiness.

Visual changes on the Figo Sports include a black honeycomb grille, which looks really good. When I say really good, I mean the quality; it’s really good. It doesn’t look like those cheap aftermarket ones. Headlamps are smoked which goes really well with the rest of the black elements. The roof has been blacked-out and so are the ORVMs.

A 15-inch twin-spoke Panther Black alloy wheels, shod with 195/55 rubber contribute a lot to the “Sports” badge of this car. Those wheels and tyres look really delicious. Decals on the door and on the rear bumper, along with a rear spoiler complete the exterior changes.

Interiors are all-black with red contrast stitching on the seats and on the gear knob. The Sports Edition is offered with the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines with output figures remaining the same as the regular models. Both engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.5-litre petrol engine which is paired with a dual-clutch automatic is not available with the Sports Edition.

Ford says that the suspension has been tweaked for a sporty ride, and also, there is something called ‘Secondary Clutch Switch’. As per my understanding, the ‘Secondary Clutch Switch’, also known as the 2nd clutch pressure switch, helps the car in a smooth get-go and prevents it from stalling. That thing helps you in stop-go traffic and adds to the overall driving experience.

The Aspire Sports Edition on the other side doesn’t get much visual changes. It gets a blacked-out grille, smoked headlamps, decals on the doors and bumpers, and 15-inch silver alloy wheels. The interiors are all-black with a contrast stitching on the seats and on the gear knob.

So, there you have it. The Figo and Aspire Sports Edition. Watch the video embedded above and let me know what do you think of them in the comments down below, and also make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel if you haven’t already!
