A supercar collector from Bengaluru has ordered a McLaren 720S which is expected to arrive by the end of June, confirmed a source who knows the owner personally.

India’s first 720S will share the garage with Ferrari 458 Italia, 488 GTB and Lamborghini Huracan.

The 720S was unveiled in March this year as a successor to the 650S. It packs a 4.0 litre V8 twin-turbo, with an output of 720 PS (710 bhp) @ 7500 rpm and 770 Nm of torque @ 5500 rpm. Transmission is a 7 Speed dual clutch automatic with paddle shifters, sending power to the rear wheels.

India has no McLaren dealers yet, so the order has been placed from Dubai, reportedly. No information regarding the colour or MSO specs is available yet.

The 720S starts at £208,600 in UK, which roughly translates to Rs 1.72 Crore. Add 125% import tax + landing charges + Countervailing duty + blah blah duties and the price in India could exceed Rs 4.5 Crore.
