Electric mobility is a big part of BMW’s NEXT strategy. By 2025, the company aims to offer 25 models with an electrified drive system – of which, 12 will be pure-electric. One of those 12 will be a four-door Gran Coupe.

The concept named as i Vision Dynamics, has a range of 600 km (373 miles), a top speed of over 200 km/h (120 mph), and a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration in 4.0 seconds. “We have more electrified vehicles on the road than any established competitor and are committed to expanding our activities in the field of electric mobility as part of our NUMBER ONE > NEXT strategy,” said Harald Krüger, Chairman of the Board, BMW AG.

The company said that the design of the vehicle is very much in keeping with the identity of BMW i: “I do more with less”. “The BMW i Vision Dynamics allows us to show right now what another electric BMW might look like,” said Klaus Fröhlich, Member of the Board of Management, BMW AG.

As you might expect, the vehicle will have semi-autonomous capability. As for the other features, the underlying sensors turn the kidney grille into an “intelligence surface”. The freestanding LED light elements on each side of the car’s nose integrate all the necessary lighting functions, says BMW. At the rear, the L-shaped lights emphasize the vehicle’s width.

More details are expected in due course.
