Infiniti has reveled its updated full-size SUV QX80 ahead of the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show. The new QX80 adopts Infiniti’s Powerful Elegance design language.

The facelift gets a redesigned upper grille, LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, and restyled bumpers. With the reworked fenders, the face now looks aggressive. Notice the redesigned fender vents as well. The tail gate, tail lamps, and rear bumper design has been refreshed as well. The 20-inch standard wheels can be upgraded to 22-inch ones.

“It (new QX80) strengthens the brand’s position in the global full-size SUV segment, which currently accounts for more than half of all full-size luxury car sales around the world. The new model will further enhance our profile in an area of the market that prizes modern exterior design, high-tech cabins engineered for relaxation, and effortless, empowering performance. The fact that we held the global reveal in Dubai reinforces the strategic importance of the Middle East for Infiniti”, said Christian Meunier, Infiniti Global Division Vice President.

The interiors have been refreshed as well, and features high-quality materials, a hand-crafted finish and advanced drive-assist technologies, said the company. As for the suspension, its a “taut, yet comfort-oriented”.

The 5.6-litre naturally aspirated V8 has been retained from the outgoing model, which produces about 400 hp and 560 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via 7-speed automatic transmission.

Production of the new QX80 is underway at Infiniti’s Kyushu production facility in Japan, and will go on sale in select markets across North America, Asia and the Middle East from the end of 2017.

In 2016, the outgoing model accounted for 8.96 percent of Infiniti’s global sales, with more than 20,708 units sold around the world, added the company.
