The year old reports of Hyundai looking back at ‘Santro’ badge appears to be true, as a spy photo of an unidentified Hyundai hatchback surfaces online. At this point, there is no solid reliable information that Hyundai is indeed bringing back the Santro badge.
However, what’s interesting is that according to a source which appears to be close to the developments, the new hatchback – internally codenamed AH2, is being internally referred as the “new Santro”. The petrol engine production is also underway, and in the photo above, we can see the workers holding the board which says “Hearty Welcome AH2”.
‘Santro’ is the badge which made Hyundai India what it is today, and there’s a very good chance that Hyundai might bring back the badge.
