Maruti Suzuki launches Swift Limited Edition

Swift-Limited-Edition-2017-India

While the new Swift, unveiled nearly a year ago, is already on sale in the international markets, the current one in India is getting a bit long in the tooth and has started to feel old and outdated. The new generation model has already landed here, but won’t make it to the market until next year.

Which is why Maruti is launching a Special Edition Swift, to fill the gap and to keep the current car more relevant. The Special Edition is priced at Rs 5,44,793 for the petrol and Rs 6,39,662 for the diesel, both prices ex-showroom, Delhi.

The exteriors get body graphics. Interiors get new seat covers, sporty steering cover, carpet mats, and touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The speakers are claimed to have extra bass.

No mechanical changes as you might have guessed. The Swift is offered with 1.2-litre (1197 cc) 4-cylinder K-Series petrol engine producing 84.3 PS @ 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm, and a Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre (1248 cc) 4-cylinder DDiS turbo diesel producing 75 PS @ 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque @ 2,000 rpm. Transmission is a 5-speed manual.

The Swift comes with a driver airbag as standard across all variants. Top-spec variant gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, and Reverse Parking Sensors.
