Maruti Suzuki launches Wagon R Flex Fuel

As you probably know, the present Indian government is notorious for making hasty decisions, and one of the most recent ones was introducing the E20 fuel in 2023 when most vehicles were not (are still not) capable of handling this blend. As a result, people have been reporting issues and/or damages in their vehicles, and a simple Google search can find plenty of such reports. A latest example below:

Unfortunately, the present government is not the type of government that listens to its people, and therefore, it decided to introduce the E85 fuel on June 5. Apparently, a certain minister’s kids want to make even more money by causing trouble for the general public. Currently, the E85 is available only in a few cities, but eventually, the inevitable will happen. But what’s hilarious is that the E85 was introduced at a ridiculous price of INR 82.12 a litre!

Amidst all this chaos, Maruti Suzuki has revealed the Wagon R Flex Fuel. Among other hardware changes, the car comes equipped with an ECU that is capable of adapting to any ethanol blend between E20 and E100. However, the Wagon R Flex Fuel is not available for purchase yet, and the company has yet to reveal an official launch date and prices. The car has not yet been listed on the official website either. Which classifies the Wagon R Flex Fuel as a pre-production prototype.

At present, there’s no car on sale in India that is 85-rated, and in fact, most vehicles that are on the roads today aren’t even capable of E20.
