After acquiring GM’s Halol plant in Gujarat and sorting out the India management, MG Motor is now building the brand in the country by launching the official website and social media channels.
As they are yet to sort out few more things, the website currently showcases the brand’s history all the way from 1924 to the latest model launched in 2016.
The UK-based brand is owned by SAIC Motor – GM’s partner in China. The company has hired former GM executives for its India operations, Rajiv Chaba will lead the brand as the President and MD, while P. Balendran will be the Executive Director.
In UK, the brand sells MG3 hatchback, MG GS, and MG ZS (above) crossovers. The company plans to start India operations in 2019.
