Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the 2018 Land Cruiser Prado at Rs 92.60 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The facelifted model was globally unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Exterior features include full LED automatic headlamps with washer, LED front fog lamps, rear fog lamps, rear spoiler with integrated stop lamp, aero-stabilizing fins, moon roof (electric tilt & slide), ORVM integrated LED turn signals and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Interiors get genuine leather upholstery, electrically adjustable heated and ventilated front seats with memory (8-way driver, 4-way passenger), Optitron instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen, 3-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, DAC (Downhill Assist Control), HAC (Hill-start Assist Control) and more.
Safety kit includes ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, 7 airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and Active Headrest which is claimed to prevent injury to the neck and back in case of a rear-end collision.
Powertrain
Powering the Prado is a 3.0-litre (2,982 cc) 4-cylinder turbo diesel, producing 127 kW (170 hp) @ 3,400 rpm and 410 Nm of torque @ 1600-2800 rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed automatic transmission sending power to the all four wheels.
Off-road features include Crawl Control (5 speed select), Multi Terrain Select, Multi Terrain Monitor (4 camera surround check), panoramic view monitor and 0.7 m wading depth.
The Prado features Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) with rear air suspension allowing the driver to choose among three modes – Comfort, Normal and Sport. The height control switch allows the driver to select a normal, high or low vehicle height setting. There is also the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) which works to suppress roll and increase vehicle stability.
The 2018 Land Cruiser Prado offers 8 color choices – White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic, Blackish Ahega Glass Flake, Attitude Black Mica, Red Mica Metallic, Avant-Garde Bronze Metallic and Vintage Brown Pearl Crystal Shine.
