Its been two years since the debut of DB11, marking a new chapter in the Aston Martin’s history. The British grand tourer has just got an update and its called the DB11 AMR.

If you haven’t figured it out already, the DB11 AMR replaces the standard DB11 V12. The 5.2-litre twin turbo V12 now develops 630 bhp, 30 bhp more than the aforementioned DB11 V12 and a lot more than the V8 version. The torque however, remains unchanged at 700 Nm.

A 0-62 mph time of 3.7 sec is an improvement of 0.2 sec over the outgoing model while a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h) makes the DB11 AMR the fastest model in Aston Martin’s current series production range.

Tweaks has been made to the chassis by Aston Martin’s dynamics team, led by Chief Engineer Matt Becker. Transmission has been re-calibrated as well and the exhaust note is more vocal when the Sport mode is engaged.

Visually, the DB11 AMR is distinguished by exposed carbon fibre elements and gloss black detailing. Further visual treatment includes dark headlight surrounds and smoked tail lamps complimented by dark front grille and tailpipes and gloss black roof.

The DB11 AMR rides on 20-inch forged wheels available in gloss black, textured black or silver diamond.

The interiors get monotone leather and alcantara upholstery with a bold contrasting central lime stripe. Other features include Sports Steering Wheel in Obsidian Black full leather, 8-inch infotainment and satellite navigation.

In addition to the extensive choice of standard colour and trim options, the DB11 AMR is available in three Designer Specifications, plus a limited-edition model sporting AMR’s signature Stirling Green and lime livery.

This model gets extensive carbon fibre detailing on the exterior and Dark Knight leather, Lime detailing, Satin Dark Chrome switch gear and Satin Carbon Fibre trim on the inside. Strictly limited to 100 units worldwide, this specification is priced at £201,995.

Aston Martin’s accessories team have also provided a full suite of options for those looking to add further race-inspired styling to their DB11. These include a carbon-fibre engine cover, exhaust tips, a deployable spoiler, carbon-fibre sports steering wheel and paddeshifts. For those heading off for weekend, expertly tailored luggage sets are available to match the car’s specification.

The DB11 AMR carries a price tag of £174,995 in the UK, $241,000 in the US and €218,595 in Germany.
