Hyundai Naamkaran – ‘Santro’ leads the campaign

In case you missed the whole story, Hyundai India had started a naming campaign called HyundaiNaamkaran asking the people to come up with a name for their new AH2 hatchback.

Hyundai said that the campaign has received an overwhelming response with more than 4 lakh votes, of which, 201,568 votes are for the ‘Santro’. The other top names are i5, ‘Splash’ and ‘Saneon’. The final name and the car will be revealed on October 23, 2018.

Maruti Suzuki Ritz was sold as ‘Splash’ in the international markets, which makes me wonder if the trademark belongs to Suzuki in India too. If it does, Hyundai would drop it from the shortlist.

The lucky winner will take home the new car at the launch ceremony. Hyundai is also giving away 100 Gift Vouchers of Rs 1000 each.
