As you might have guessed, this is the European version of the Grand i10 Nios that went on sale in India in August 2019. The A-segment car will make its public debut at the 2019 Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA).

Compared to the aforementioned Indian version, there are some obvious changes. The signature Cascading grille is shorter in height and there’s another inverted grille underneath. The upper grille-integrated circular LED DRLs of the outgoing model have been carried over. The side profile and the rear end looks more or less the same, however, the taillamp detailing looks more premium here. The car rides on (optional) 16-inch alloy wheels which appear to be aerodynamically optimized.

The fresh interiors look identical to the Indian version with premium looking materials and textures. The dashboard, door pads and the centre console get the honeycomb 3D pattern. Other features include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto compatibility, wireless charging, and the optional Bluelink connected car technology. More options include a rear-view camera. The luggage space is 252 litres and the loading height is now 29 mm lower, making it easier to load stuff.

According to Hyundai, the new i10’s reduced beltline at the front (-11 mm) and rear of the vehicle (-13 mm) gives drivers a better view of the road on both sides. With the C-pillar now 11.9º and down from 13.1º, drivers have better visibility when performing parking manoeuvers.

The new i10 complies with the European safety standards. Standard and available features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), High Beam Assist (HBA), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), and Intelligent Speed Limit Warning (ISLW).

At launch, the new i10 in Europe will be available with two engines: a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder unit with 67 hp and 96 Nm torque, as well as a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder unit with 84 hp and 118 Nm torque. Both engines are available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT. The Idle Stop and Go (ISG) is a standard feature for both powertrains.

Hyundai is offering an optional ECO Pack, which includes an adjusted gear ratio, four seats and 14-inch wheels for optimized efficiency. If opted, the 3-cylinder unit is claimed to emit 98 grams of CO2 per km (NEDC), which otherwise would emit 103 grams per km.

Last but not the least, the third generation European i10 measures 3,670 mm in length, 1,680 mm in width and 1,480 mm in height. Wheelbase measures 2,425 mm.
