Hyundai India (HMIL) seems to be least affected by the slowdown in the country’s auto sector. The company sold 38,205 vehicles in the domestic market in August 2019 as against 45,801 vehicles in the same period last year, registering a decline of 16.58 percent.

In August, HMIL has continued to be the market leader in Utility Vehicle Segment while maintaining its market share in Passenger Vehicles segment with strong performance of Grand i10 Nios, Venue, Creta and Elite i20. We expect the coming festive season will be a turnaround period in the market with positive customer sentiments. – Vikas Jain, National Sales Head, HMIL

Interestingly, HMIL exported 17,800 vehicles in August 2019 as against 16,111 vehicles in August 2018, a growth of 10.48 percent. However, the cumulative sales (of 56,005 vehicles) dropped by 9.54 percent compared to 61,912 vehicles in August 2018.
