After the grand success of the Seltos SUV, Kia India is gearing up to introduce the Carnival minivan in the market. Currently in its 3rd generation, the Carnival is also known as ‘Sedona’ in other markets. Once launched in India, the minivan will rival the segment leader Toyota Innova and also the likes of Mahindra Marazzo.

The Carnival or Sedona is a smart looking, seductive MPV with exterior features such as LED headlights, LED fog lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED taillamps, and dual electric sunroof.

The interior looks luxurious with features such as 8-way power-adjustable front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, tri-zone climate control, and Harman Kardon audio system. The U.S. market also gets driver assistance and active safety systems such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with Pedestrian Detection, Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go, Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW) and more.

The rear section is accessed via power sliding doors. Once inside, there are VIP seats with an entertainment system and what appears to be a generous amount of legroom. As you’d expect, there are power outlets too for charging the devices.

In the U.S. market, the Carnival or Sedona is powered by a 276 hp 3.3-litre V6 petrol engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. For the Indian market, however, the Carnival at launch will be offered with a 200 hp 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine paired with an automatic transmission.

The official launch date is not yet available but can be expected sometime in Feb 2020.
