Toyota Corolla Sedan gets styling touches from Gazoo Racing

2021-Toyota-Corolla-Sedan-GR-Sport

Toyota’s Gazoo Racing is slowly becoming known globally as the big T’s performance arm. Especially after the 5th gen Supra‘s debut, a lot more people now understand that it is just like how M is for BMW or AMG is for Mercedes. Which I think is the plan anyway because more models now sport the ‘GR’ badges. The latest one is the Corolla Sedan GR Sport.

It gets subtle yet tasteful styling touches from Gazoo Racing, such as piano black exterior detailing throughout the vehicle; 17-inch black alloy wheels (18-inch optional) with machined-finish ends and a red ring around the centre cap; an integrated bootlid spoiler, and of course, a GR Sport badging at the rear.

It’ll be available in 8 color choices including a new Dynamic Grey that can be combined with a black roof for a dual-tone theme.

The cabin has an all-black theme going on with sporty front seats upholstered in a combination of black cloth and synthetic leather, with contrasting vertical stitches in white and red, matching the Gazoo Racing colors. The same color theme is applied to the rear bench seat.

The Corolla Sedan GR Sport will go on sale starting with European markets in November 2020. There won’t be any mechanical changes. Depending on the market, the Sedan will be offered with the current 1.8-litre petrol-electric hybrid and 1.6-litre petrol powertrains. Availability in other markets is expected in January 2021.
