After reproducing parts for the A70 and A80 Supra, Toyota’s Gazoo Racing (TGR) arm has announced that it will reproduce parts for the 2000GT as well and will sell them both domestically and overseas.
The 2000GT is one of the iconic automobiles in Toyota’s history; it was developed in association with Yamaha. It was launched in 1967 and the production ended in 1970 with 337 units (official figures) produced. With 2.0-litre straight-six engine, it boasted a top speed of 220 km/h (137 mph).
The parts are expected to go on sale starting from August 1, 2020; the updates will be posted on the TGR website. Also, the sales will be restricted to the owners to prevent reselling; and the number of parts sold will be limited per car.
When the parts are ready, it can be ordered through Toyota dealers in Japan and overseas.
