Mercedes-Benz reveals a foldable eScooter

When Audi, Ford, Hyundai, Peugeot and pretty much everyone else is selling e-scooters, Mercedes-Benz probably felt like “fk it! you know what? I might as well get on board”. The company has teamed up with Swiss micro-mobility specialists Micro Mobility Systems to introduce this foldable eScooter.

The eScooter is finished in Black with a three-pointed star branding. It weighs approximately 13.5 kg (30 lbs). Features include front & rear suspension, front & rear lights, and front & rear brakes as well. The tiny motor develops a peak output of 500 Watt (0.68 hp), drawing juice from a 280 Wh battery pack made of LG cells. Charging takes about 3 to 3.5 hours.

The claimed range is approximately 25 km (16 mi), and the top speed is claimed to be 20 km/h (12 mph).

Mercedes-Benz said that the eScooter is approved for riding on public roads in Germany. The scooter meets all the necessary requirements, such as license plate bracket, identification plate and ABE (German general operating license); the only thing the owner needs to obtain is statutory liability insurance.
