MINI Vision Urbanaut concept aims to offer a chilled ride

MINI-Vision-Urbanaut

I know, we’ve already seen concepts that showcase a living room/lounge-like interior ambiance, but the MINI Vision Urbanaut looks a bit more interesting. While there are no immediate plans to produce this minivan-like contraption, the idea is to showcase Mini’s “vision of space”.

The retro exterior features perforated front and rear fascias which can either display headlights and taillights, or animations when required. The same theme can be found on the wheels. Since the Vision Urbanaut is an EV, the closed front grille hides the hardware for automated driving.

The rear doors slide open like in a minivan, revealing the lounge-like interior. Also, notice the windscreen that opens upwards for a “Street Balcony” experience.

Speaking of which, the vehicle offers two spaces: Daybed and Street Balcony, and Cosy Corner. The Cosy Corner is fairly self-explanatory; it’s like a corner of a lounge, with an LED-backlit loop over it, creating an experience of relaxing underneath a tree. As for the front section, the dashboard gets lowered with the steering wheel retracted to become a “Daybed”, when driving in automated mode or maybe relaxing somewhere on an adventure, for example.

The Vision Urbanaut also offers three curated “Mini moments” – Chill, Wanderlust and Vibe. Watch the video below to get a better idea –
