The Hyundai Kona EV official recall campaign which began in South Korea in October, has reached the Indian market as well. The company is recalling a total of 456 units manufactured between 1st April 2019 to 31st Oct 2020 to inspect the possibility of a faulty battery system that could increase the risk of a fire.

The owners will be notified in a phased manner to bring their vehicle to an authorized Hyundai EV dealer for inspection. If needed, the faulty parts will be replaced free of cost. Meanwhile, it is our personal advisory to not use the vehicle.

The Kona Electric was launched in India in July 2019 at an introductory ex-showroom price of INR 25,30,000. It was the first all-electric SUV in the country. It currently carries an ex-showroom (Delhi) price tag of INR 23,75,900.
