MG Motor India has launched the 2021 Hector lineup, with prices starting at INR 12.89 lakh, ex-showroom. New to the lineup is a 7-seater version of the Hector Plus, which starts at INR 13.34 lakh.

So, what else is new for 2021? Well, on the exterior, the 5-seater Hector gets a new grille pattern that is pretty similar to the one on the ZS EV; gunmetal finished skid plates, and a dark tailgate garnish. Also, now there are a couple of dual-tone paint schemes. All three variants get new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the i-Smart touchscreen has been updated with new voice commands. It can now understand and respond to 35+ Hinglish (a mix of Hindi and English) commands including sunroof (“Khul Ja Sim Sim”), FM (“FM chalao”) and AC (“temperature kam kar do”). Apparently, the rest of the Indians will have to settle for English commands.

Also, the 5-seater Hector gets an option of champagne and black dual-tone interior theme. The 6-seater Hector Plus features ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, and auto-dimming IRVM.

No mechanical changes. The powertrains continue to be 143 hp 1.5L turbo petrol with 6-MT or 6-DCT and a 170 hp 2.0L turbo diesel engine paired with a 6-MT.
