Can a full-size, mammoth SUV get a Nismo variant? Sure, as long as you’re in the Middle East, anything is possible. Which is why Nissan is offering the Patrol Nismo, exclusive to the Middle Eastern markets, with prices starting at AED 385,000 (US$ 104,820) inclusive of VAT.

Visual upgrades include an aerodynamic body kit that comes with a sporty front bumper with air curtains, side rocker panels, a roof spoiler, a diffuser-like insert at the rear with F1-inspired LED fog light, 22-inch 2 tone aluminium wheels, and of course, red accents all around the vehicle. It’s not all visual though, the sporty SUV comes with tuned suspension with Bilstein shocks. Also, Nissan claims a cumulative wheel weight reduction of 4.5 kg (10 lbs).

The cabin has been spiced-up with sporty seats upholstered in a combination of leather and red Alcantara; red contrast stitching, red-tinted carbon fibre inserts, and a Nismo steering wheel. Other features include 13-speaker Bose audio system, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, and ADAS such as Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Forward Collision Warning.

The 5.6-litre Takumi-tuned (Takumi craftsmen — a team of four master engine builders who hand-build the GT-R engines at Nissan’s Yokohama engine plant) V8 motor pumps out 319 kW (434 metric hp) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. Compared to the standard tune, the Nismo offers 29 metric hp more. The gearbox is a 7-speed automatic.
