Audi of America has announced a bunch of updates for its Audi Sport lineup for the 2022 model year; the R8 RWD, in particular, is getting power and torque upgrades.
Speaking of which, the 5.2L naturally aspirated V10 motor now pumps out 419 kW (570 metric hp) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque — an increase of 30 metric hp and 10 Nm compared to the 2021 R8 RWD, but are similar to the standard quattro model sold in Germany.
|R8 Coupe V10 Performance RWD||$146,500|
|R8 Spyder V10 Performance RWD||$158,700|
|R8 Coupe V10 Performance quattro||$197,600|
|R8 Spyder V10 Performance quattro||$211,300|
In case you’re wondering, the quattro models in America offer 449 kW (610 metric hp) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. The V10 Performance quattro variant in Germany pumps out 456 kW (620 metric hp) and 580 Nm (428 lb-ft) of torque. Hopefully, that clears any confusion.
Also, two new packages are available for the RWD models — Sport exhaust package and Dynamic package. The Sport exhaust package includes a four button steering wheel with Performance modes and a sport exhaust system with black exhaust tips. The Dynamic package includes ceramic front and rear brakes, 20-inch 5-double-spoke, milled-cut, titanium finish wheels, and Racing shell seats in fine Nappa leather.
