Only for Europe and Korea?

Genesis has revealed a gorgeous Shooting Brake version of the G70 Sedan, scheduled to go on sale in Europe this summer. In fact, Genesis claims that the car has been “designed with European customers in mind”.

The front half of the car is fairly identical to the Sedan with quad lamps, Crest grille and so on, but it’s the rear where all the drama takes place. The quad lamps run into the tailgate and the tailgate itself looks stunning with a single-piece glass windscreen and an integrated spoiler; notice the gap between the glass and the spoiler to aid the airflow.

As for the dimensions, the Shooting Brake is of the same size as the Sedan, measuring 4,685 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,400 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,835 mm. However, Genesis claims that the luggage space is 40% larger than in the G70 Sedan and its rear seats can be split-folded in a 4:2:4 ratio.

The cabin is identical to the Sedan, obviously. Features include a 10.25-inch floating central touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging, an 8-inch LCD cluster (optional 12.3-inch 3D cluster), 10 airbags, and driver assistance systems such as Smart Cruise Control with stop & go, Lane Assist, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist.

The G70 Shooting Brake is expected to offer the same powertrains as its Sedan sibling, depending on the market, which includes a 185 kW (252 metric hp) 2.0L turbo petrol, a 272 kW (370 metric hp) 3.3L V6 turbo petrol and a 149 kW (202 metric hp) 2.2L turbo diesel. All three engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that drives the rear wheels as standard. An AWD badge on the tailgate suggests that there’ll be, of course, AWD variants on offer.
