2022 Subaru Impreza debuts with a new color, unchanged prices

Subaru has updated the Impreza for the upcoming year for the U.S. market, with prices remaining unchanged from the previous year across the model lineup. What’s new for 2022? Well, there’s a new Sapphire Blue Pearl exterior color, available on both sedan and hatchback bodystyles and on all trim levels.

All Impreza models equipped with CVT come standard with the Subaru EyeSight suite of active safety and driver assistance systems, which include Automatic Pre-Collision Braking and Throttle Management, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, and Lead Vehicle Start Alert. The CVT models also get Rear Seat Reminder which alerts the driver to check the rear seat before exiting the vehicle. Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are part of an optional package.

The aforementioned new exterior color is paired with either black or ivory interior depending on the trim level. Features inside depending on the trim include tilt & telescoping steering column, Starlink 8.0-inch central touchscreen, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity, and heated front seats. There are options too depending on the trim, which include a power moonroof, 6-way power driver’s seat, and Harman Kardon audio system.

The 2022 Impreza in America is powered by a 2.0-litre boxer 4-cylinder petrol engine that develops 113 kW (154 metric hp) at 6,000 rpm and 197 Nm (145 lb-ft) of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a CVT and an AWD system. Subaru claims a fuel efficiency of 36 highway MPG (15.3 km/l) and more than 450 miles (724+ km) on a full tank.
