Hyundai Alcazar launched at Rs 16.30 lakh

Hyundai India has launched the Creta-based 3-row SUV Alcazar in the country, with introductory prices starting at INR 16.30 lakh, ex-showroom, Pan India. The Alcazar is available in 6- or 7-seater configurations. Variant-wise ex-showroom prices are listed below —

Exterior features depending on the trim include tri-beam LED headlights, LED taillights, ORVM-integrated LED turn signals, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Alcazar is available only in subtle exterior colors, including Taiga brown, Polar white, Phantom black, Typhoon silver, Starry night, and Titan grey. There are two dual-tone options as well: Polar white with Phantom black roof and Titan grey with Phantom black roof.

Features in the cabin include a dual-tone cognac brown theme, 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, tilt & telescopic steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, voice commands, auto AC, AC vents for 2nd & 3rd row, USB charging ports, wireless smartphone charging pads, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, and 64-colour ambient lighting. The Alcazar also claims a few segment-first features including an air purifier with AQI display (air quality index); seatback tables with retractable cup and tablet device holders; and rear window sunshades.

Safety features include airbags (front, side and curtain), ABS with EBD, disc brakes at all four corners, ESC, Hill-start Assist, TPMS, and front fog lights.

As for the powertrains, the petrol buyers will get a Nu-series 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder unit that develops 117 kW (159 metric hp) and 191 Nm (141 lb-ft) of torque, and for those who want a diesel, there’s a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit with 85 kW (115 metric hp) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque on offer. Both engines offer a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
