Land Rover Defender Trophy Edition comes with an adventure competition

Land Rover North America is offering the Defender Trophy Edition as a homage to, well, the iconic nameplate itself; more specifically, its long-standing expedition legacy. Priced at $90,000 and limited to 220 units, the Defender Trophy Edition is based on the 22MY Defender 110 P400 X-Dynamic SE trim. Each purchase includes an opportunity for up to 90 teams (on a first-come, first-served basis) to participate in the Trophy Competition — a one-day off-road adventure held at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C. starting October 11, 2021.

The overall winning team of the Trophy Competition will go on to compete at an extreme adventure competition at Eastnor Castle in the UK, the spiritual home of Land Rover testing and development, to take place in early 2022.

The Trophy Edition features a special wrap inspired by the Defender Works V8 Trophy, complemented with an Extended Black Exterior pack. Other equipment includes a tow hitch receiver, front underbody shield, a roof rack, a deployable ladder, winch installation kit (optional), an integrated air compressor, ClearSight RearView, Air Suspension Pack, Cold Climate Pack, Off-road Pack, and Advanced Off-road Capability Pack.

The Trophy Edition is powered by a 3.0L (2,996 cc) straight-six turbocharged petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system. The engine develops 294 kW (400 metric hp) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, and is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
