2022 Jeep Commander launched in Brasil

2022-Jeep-Commander

Jeep has revived the ‘Commander’ nameplate for the Brazilian market, with prices starting at R$ 199,990. Pre-sales have commenced since yesterday on the official Jeep Brasil website for a deposit of R$ 5,000. Deliveries are expected to commence in October 2021.

Variant Price (in R$)
Commander Limited Turbo Flex AT6 199,990
Commander Overland Turbo Flex AT6 219,990
Commander Limited Turbo Diesel 4×4 AT9 259,990
Commander Overland Turbo Diesel 4×4 AT9 279,990

For the uninitiated, the new Commander is a 7-seater version of the Compass, and I think the designers have done a good job in giving a unique look to this new product. Although the Commander closely resembles the Compass from the front-three-quarter angles, it looks fairly unique from the rear-three-quarter angles. The Overland comes with a sunroof, while all other variants are compensated with a black roof. Other exterior features include full LED headlights and 19-inch wheels.

Features inside depending on the trim include leather & suede seat upholstery, a 10.25-inch driver display, a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging, and a 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. ADAS include adaptive cruise control, lane assist systems, blind spot assist, emergency braking, rear cross traffic detection and so on. Passive safety includes 7 airbags.

Moving on to the juicy bits of the story, the Commander will be available with a 1.3-litre T270 Turbo Flex (flex fuel) engine with 138 kW (188 metric hp) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

There’ll also be a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine with 127 kW (173 metric hp) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) on offer, paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and a 4WD system.
