MG Astor sold out for 2021, bookings open for 2022

MG-Astor

MG Motor India is happy to announce that the Astor is sold out for 2021 and deliveries will commence from 1st November. The company said that it is planning to deliver 5,000 cars this year. While this “sold out” thing may seem like a marketing gimmick, MG like every other carmaker out there, is battling the global semiconductor chip shortage pandemic and therefore it has to ration out the chips carefully among all the models in its portfolio.

However, those who’re willing to wait till 2022, can still go ahead and book the car. “We are ecstatic about the response we have received from the customers. However, given the global chip crisis that the industry is undergoing, we can only supply a limited number of cars this year. We expect supplies to become better from Q1 next year,” said Rajeev Chaba, President & MD, MG Motor India.
