Hyundai India is all set to launch another new (potential) blockbuster—which it calls ‘Exter’. The Exter apparently is an SUV that “symbolizes outdoor, travel and leisure”. It’s a vehicle that can take you to the ‘Venue‘ of your choice, wherever it may be, or, at least that’s what I understood from Hyundai’s official statement.
But anyway, the Exter is nothing but the Venue with a supposed tough-looking body kit that includes flared fenders and butch styling in the lower section. The front fascia features ‘H’-shaped running light signatures—which are mimicked at the rear as well.
The rear door and the way the C-pillar has been designed, make the vehicle look more like a Citroen, especially from the three-quarter angles. I personally think that the design team could’ve done a much better job, but you know, you don’t really know what goes on in car designers’ minds these days, which is more true when you look at new BMWs.
But anyway, the Exter is gonna offer 5 trim options: EX, S, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Connect. And, among the color options is gonna be a unique one called ‘Ranger Khaki’.
As for powertrain options, the Exter is gonna offer a 1.2L Kappa petrol engine (E20 fuel ready) with either 5-MT or AMT, and 1.2L Kappa bi-fuel (petrol or CNG) with 5-MT.
