Volkswagen is expanding its ID. lineup of BEVs with GTX versions of ID.3 and ID.7 Tourer. Your local dealership might have an idea of the pricing and availability, but just to give you an idea, the ID.7 and ID.7 Tourer in Germany, carry a starting price tag of €56,995 and €54,795 (including VAT), respectively. The ID.3 prices start at €39,995 (including VAT).

The ID.7 GTX Tourer attempts to look more sportier than the ID.7 Tourer by way of a sporty front bumper with a honeycomb grille pattern, high-gloss black side skirts/sills, 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels, and of course, dual-tone paint scheme. But arguably, the regular ID.7 Tourer already looks sporty, which means the GTX model doesn’t really add much to the sportiness. I mean, it is like asking to add sugar to honey.

Volkswagen didn’t bother sharing a lot of details on the ID.7 GTX Tourer but confirmed that it is an all-wheel-drive estate. Which means, there’s an extra front motor – in addition to a 210 kW (286 metric hp) rear motor.

The dark-themed interior features tastefully-applied red accents, red contrast stitching, and of course, red ambient lighting. The steering wheel and front seats (heated) are GTX-branded. The ID.7 GTX Tourer boasts a luggage capacity of up to 1,714 litres.

Next up, we have the ID.3 GTX—which makes an attempt to appear hotter than the regular model, following the same formula as that of the ID.7 GTX Tourer. The front bumper design is exactly the same as that of the GTX Tourer, as are the 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels. But notice that there’s no chrome upper window line here, and also, the C-pillar continues to be in body color—as opposed to black. DCC adaptive chassis control is included as standard.

Again, it’s the same formula inside, with red accents, red contrast stitching, and premium sports seats (in fabric and leatherette). No further details are available yet on this variant either, but the ID.3 GTX is also gonna be an all-wheel-drive model with an extra front motor. The RWD Pro S model, for example, packs 150 kW (204 metric hp) and 310 Nm (229 lb-ft).
