2027 Jeep Avenger debuts with many powertrain options

The Jeep Avenger has been a fairly successful model, reaching the milestone of over 270,000 orders as of today. I know, the Indian market could have helped push that number to more than half a million, but as you may know, the Indian market is a complicated one that requires the Avenger to be shortened to less than 4 meters in length. But anyway, the Avenger has received a mid-cycle refresh, and the variants include the 85th Anniversary Special Edition. Prices in Germany start at €26,600 for the entry-level petrol manual.

The styling revisions are rather subtle, and you need a side-by-side comparison to find out the differences. Nonetheless, the changes include upgraded matrix LED headlights, a revised grille with LED strips, and a redesigned front bumper. There are redesigned 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels as well, with the centre caps featuring a stylized Jeep Willys side profile. The 85th-anniversary edition features gold accents and specific badges.

Two new colors, Forest and Bamboo, have been added to the palette. There’s a new front camera that helps with a 360-degree view. The rest of the things remain mostly unchanged, including the off-road angles (up to 22° approach, 21° breakover, 35° departure) and up to 210 mm ground clearance.

As for the powertrain options, the Avenger facelift offers traditional petrol, petrol-electric mild-hybrid, hybrid AWD, and all-electric options.

The petrol is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged unit, delivering 74 kW (101 metric hp) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft). This engine comes paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 48-volt mild-hybrid variant combines a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor integrated into a 6-speed DCT. It offers combined figures of 81 kW (110 metric hp) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft). A tiny 0.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack offers up to 1 km (0.6 mi) of pure electric driving under 30 km/h (19 mph). Which means, parking maneuvers can be done in electric mode.

The Avenger 4xe, as the name suggests, is an AWD model with an additional electric motor at the rear. The combined figures in this case are 107 kW (145 metric hp) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft). The final variant is, of course, an all-electric model, with 115 kW (156 metric hp) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) on tap. A 54 kWh battery pack is claimed to offer a WLTP range of up to 400 km (248.5 mi). These figures remain unchanged from the original electric model.
