The North American-spec Subaru Solterra made its debut at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show. The all-electric SUV is expected to go on sale in the United States and Canada in mid-2022 as a 2023 model. Check out more photos here.

In the U.S. market, the Solterra will be offered in three trims: Premium, Limited and Touring. Key features include standard LED headlights, 20-inch alloy wheels, 8.3-inches of ground clearance, glass roof with retractable sunshade (Touring), heated front & rear seats, ventilation for front seats (Touring), a unique StarTex water-repellent upholstery, heated steering wheel, climate control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, Harman Kardon audio system, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. The Solterra is claimed to offer 30 cubic feet (850 litres) of cargo space which is more than what the Kia Niro EV offers.

It appears that Subaru is offering only the dual-motor AWD variant for the North American markets. Speaking of which, both front and rear motors offer 80 kW each, which brings the grand total to 160 kW (218 metric hp/215 bhp). The combined torque figure is 336 Nm (248 lb-ft). A 71.4 kWh battery pack is estimated to offer a range of over 354 km (220+ mi). With DC fast-charging, the battery pack is claimed to get juiced up to 80% in under an hour.
