2026 Ford Mustang RTR Package offers close enough thrills

Nope, this is not the 649 kW (870 bhp/882 metric hp) Mustang RTR Spec 5, but something that is “close enough”. As the name suggests, the RTR is a package that’ll be available on the Mustang EcoBoost models in early 2026. For pricing, I think you might wanna keep in touch with your nearest Ford dealer.

So, what’s included in the package you ask? Well, on the exterior, you get RTR signature lit nostrils, grille with Mustang and RTR badges , Tarnished Dark Anodized mirror caps and pony badges, 19-inch Tarnished Dark Anodized wheels with 30-mm offset, Hyper Lime brake calipers  (optional), RTR decklid and fender badges, Tarnished Dark Anodized hood, rocker, and rear quarter graphics, and Tarnished Dark Anodized Mustang GT Performance Pack rear wing.

In the regular model, the 2.3L EcoBoost powerplant offers 235 kW (315 bhp/319.5 metric hp) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft) with 93-octane fuel. In this package, if I read the official statements correctly, you get 261 kW (350 bhp/355 metric hp) and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft).

Other upgrades include Mustang Dark Horse adjustable strut alignment bracket, Mustang Dark Horse Handling Pack front & rear stabilizer bars, Mustang Dark Horse rear subframe with stiffer rate bushings, Mustang GT steering rack angle with 72.5 mm of additional travel, Mustang GT 600-watt cooling fan, Mustang GT Performance Package with 15.3-inch front rotors and Brembo six-piston front calipers, active valve performance exhaust, race-derived anti-lag for improved throttle response, RTR-specific stability control tune, and RTR-specific calibration for optional MagneRide dampers.

Inside, you get Mustang RTR welcome/farewell splash graphics, Hyper Lime contrast stitching (steering wheel, seats, center console, door inserts), Hyper Lime seat belts, powder-coated Hyper Lime Electric Drift Brake Lever, Mustang RTR serialized dash plaque, and Mustang RTR co-branded lit sill plates.

The Mustang RTR Spec 5 on the other side is a proper monster. Limited to 50 units in total, it carries a base price of $159,999. Besides its wild bodykit, its 5.0L V8 under the hood is hooked-up with a 3.0L Stage 2 Whipple supercharger system, pumping out over 649 kW (870 bhp/882 metric hp) and 895 Nm (660 lb-ft). A HD Race Intercooler and a BORLA Cat-Back Active Exhaust System are some of the other key highlights. The Spec 5 can be specced with either a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission.
