Skoda’s successful sub-compact crossover, Kushaq, has received a mid-cycle refresh in India. Prices start at INR 10.69 lakh, ex-showroom. Variants at launch include the Kushaq Monte Carlo.

| Sportline | 14,74,000 | 15,74,000 | – |
| Prestige | 16,79,000 | 17,59,000 | 18,79,000 |
| Monte Carlo | – | 17,89,000 | 18,99,000 |
The Kushaq facelift looks a lot more sophisticated with its clean styling. It doesn’t beg for attention as certain Korean and Chinese models do. Notice how the lightbar on the grille neatly aligns with the DRLs. On a bright sunny day, one might mistake that for just a crease on a chrome grille. But anyway, I think the design has a perfect balance of contemporary elements and minimalism.
Features such as LED headlights, LED taillights, sequential rear turn signals, and a sunroof are standard across the range. The range-topping Prestige and Monte Carlo trims get a panoramic sunroof. LED front fog lamps with static cornering function are also standard across the range, except for the Classic+ MT variant. The Classic models ride on 16-inch alloy wheels, while the rest ride on 17-inch ones.
As for powertrains, the 1.0L 3-cylinder TSI offers 85 kW (116 metric hp) and 178 Nm (131 lb-ft). This engine can now be paired with either a 6-MT or an 8-speed torque converter automatic. Torque converters generally are a lot more reliable than DCTs. For those who want more, there’s the 1.5L 4-cylinder TSI, offering 110 kW (150 metric hp) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft). This engine is available only with a 7-speed DSG (dry dual-clutch AT).
Some of the key features inside include a 10-inch touchscreen, an 8-inch Virtual Cockpit, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, a 6-speaker audio system, 15-watt wireless smartphone charging, multiple USB-C ports, a cooled glovebox, auto AC, rear AC vents, 6-way electric front seats with ventilation, and massaging rear seats. Safety kit includes standard 6 airbags. The Kushaq boasts a 5-star GNCAP rating. Download the brochure here.
