Aston Martin Valhalla Spider debuts with fastest numbers

Billed as the fastest open-cockpit Aston Martin ever made

Although the Aston Martin Valhalla (Coupé) debuted over 5 years ago, it entered production fairly recently, in Q2 2025. They were probably taking some time to get the Spider ready too, and now it apparently is. Base price reportedly starts at around £1.3m, and the deliveries are expected to commence in Q3 2027. Overall production is limited to 999 units (Coupé and Spider combined).

Let’s get to the main story then, shall we? The Valhalla Spider is not one of those traditional convertibles. What I mean is, you can’t just slow down while cruising on a country-side road and press a button in the centre console and let the motors do the rest. As standard, the Valhalla Spider comes with a removable and stowable black fabric roof. Where can it be stowed? Well, behind the seats, of course.

A carbon fibre hard-top is optionally available. There’s also a uniquely designed wind deflector that can be quickly clipped into position when the roof is removed. When the roof is on, the deflector can be folded into 3 parts and stored inside the new 15-litre sill stowage apertures. The snorkel has also been optimized for the Spider; it sits 35 mm taller.

The rest of the things will remain pretty much the same as the Valhalla Coupé. The powertrain is a plug-in hybrid, combining an AMG-sourced flat-plane-crank 4.0L biturbo V8 with three electric motors. Two motors are at the front, forming an e-axle, while the third motor is integrated into an 8-speed DCT. The motor is powered by a 400-volt 6.1 kWh battery pack. The combined figures remain the same as well, which are 793 kW (1,079 metric hp) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft). With no mechanical connection between front and rear axles, drive to each individual wheel is continually managed by the so-called Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVC) system.

The official performance figures remain the same as well. The 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time is 2.5 seconds, and the top speed is 350 km/h (217 mph). In Race mode, the downforce is claimed to be over 600 kg (1,323 lbs) at 241 km/h (150 mph). Inside, the Valhalla Spider gets a new set of carbon fibre Touring seats, which are claimed to enhance occupant comfort and ease of entry and exit with the roof on. However, the original carbon fibre seat from the Valhalla Coupe can be retained at no cost.
