Globally unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year, the Huracan RWD Spyder is a soft-top convertible version of the built-for-fun RWD coupe. While the regular Huracan 610-4 features a Haldex four wheel drive system (gen. V), the 580-2 is a pure rear wheel drive car. Although the electronically controlled Haldex 4WD system in the 610-4 is rear biased with 30:70 distribution, and can transfer 100% to the rear wheels in certain situations, the 580-2 is for those who want pure RWD experience.

The soft-top roof can be opened and closed within 17 seconds, and at speeds of up to 50 km/h. Powering the RWD Spyder is a 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V10 engine, producing 580 hp and 540 Nm of torque, paired to a 7 Speed dual clutch automatic transmission. 0 – 100 km/h happens in 3.6 seconds, 0.2 seconds slower than the 4WD version. The top speed is rated at 319 km/h, 5 km/h slower than the 610-4. Just like its coupe sibling, the Huracan RWD Spyder features a consensual “Power Oversteer” too.
