Lamborghini Fenomeno Roadster

You probably remember seeing the Lamborghini Fenomeno last August, which was revealed as part of the Centro Stile’s 20th anniversary celebrations. Well, now it’s time for the Fenomeno Roadster to join the party, albeit a bit late to the party, but better late than never, I guess. While the Coupe is limited to 30 units in total, the Roadster is limited to only 15 units, and I’m guessing it’s only the Coupe order holders who’ll get to order the Roadster.

The Fenomeno Roadster looks even more extreme than the already extreme-looking Coupe sibling, but that’s the whole point of a modern Lamborghini. It’s all about looking and feeling extreme while comfort takes the non-existent back seat. Model-specific changes include a windshield-mounted spoiler to redirect airflow over the cockpit and into the engine bay, and aerodynamically-optimized carbon fibre rollover hoops.

Lamborghini claims that the Roadster has achieved a similar level of stiffness and rigidity compared with the Coupe, with only a few kilograms of additional weight, thanks-in-part to a novel combination of long and short fibres of carbon and a patented fluid mixture. For those seeking the exact numbers, the Fenomeno Roadster claims a dry weight of 1,798 kg (3,964 lbs), 26 kg (57 lbs) more than the Coupe. What about the roof, you ask? Well, good sir, there ain’t no roof. When it rains, you’ll have to take one of your other 25 cars.

The powertrain remains the same, obviously. It’s a combination of a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, 3 electric motors, and an 8-speed DCT. The 3rd electric motor is integrated into the DCT. The combined figures are 795 kW (1,065 bhp/1,080 metric hp) and 725 Nm (535 lb-ft). The official 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time remains the same, which is 2.4 seconds.
