Tata Nexon rolls out of Ranjangaon plant

Tata-Nexon-Ranjangaon-Plant

The Indian compact SUV segment is rather seductive, with every carmaker wanting a piece of that. Tata Motors, who pioneered the ‘compact’ segment in India with Indigo CS, lacked a softroader for the same. Since the segment has made tons of money for Maruti, Hyundai and Ford, now Tata wants to try its luck with Nexon.

Slated to launch this festive season, the Nexon is Tata Motors’ third product to adopt the IMPACT design language after Tiago and Hexa. The Nexon will feature 1.2L turbo petrol from the Revotron series and the 1.5L diesel engine from the Revotorq family. Read more about the Nexon’s engines here.

The Nexon will be built at Ranjangaon plant near Pune, which is a JV between Fiat and Tata.

Some media reports say that the dealers have already been accepting bookings (unofficially).
