Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled launched at Rs 9.32 lakh

Ducati has added the Desert Sled to the Scrambler range in India, priced at Rs 9,32,000 for the ‘Red Musk’ shade, and Rs 9,45,000 for the ‘White Mirage’, ex-showroom.

The name Desert Sled refers to standard motorcycles over 500 cc that were modified by riders for use in the Californian desert with knobbly tyres, reinforced suspensions, spoked wheels and engine protection plates to protect the bike against the debris of impassable desert roads, says Ducati.

The Desert Sled is powered by the same 803 cc L-Twin engine as the rest of the Scrambler range, producing 73 hp @ 8,250 rpm and  67 Nm of torque @ 5,750 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

As for the suspension, the front is a 46mm fully adjustable upside-down forks, while the rear is Kayaba (KYB) with pre-load and rebound adjustable. Front brake is a 330 mm disc with 4-piston caliper, while the rear is a 245 mm disc with single piston caliper. ABS comes as standard.

Front and rear tyres are Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR, measuring 120/70 R19 and 170/60 R17, respectively.
