BMW Motorrad has confirmed that the much-awaited bikes in India – the G 310 R and its adventure sibling the G 310 GS, to be launched in the second-half of 2018.
Bikers in India have been waiting for the Motorrad’s entry-level bike the G 310 R ever since it was displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo, while the GS is expected to make its India debut at the 2018 Auto Expo.
The 310 is a joint development between the German automaker and TVS Motor Company, and the motorcycles are being manufactured at TVS’ facility in Hosur.
The bikes feature a newly developed 313 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, with an output of 25 kW (34 hp) @ 9 500 rpm and a maximum torque of 28 Nm @ 7 500 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-Speed gearbox.
Both bikes feature 2-channel ABS as standard. In the GS, the ABS can be deactivated at the press of a button if required.
The G 310 R retails at $4,750 (Rs 3.10 lakh approx.) in US.
