Honda Civic engine details revealed for India

The Honda Civic will be returning to India soon, and some of the details have been revealed to the media. Honda might have skipped a generation, but the 10th generation model that was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, made the Civic fans’ heart skip a beat.

Anyways, the 10th generation Civic will be arriving to India as a sedan. It’ll be available with 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, tuned to produce 140 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 174 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. The engine is paired to a CVT, and Honda claims a fuel efficiency of 16.5 km/l.

Also on offer will be a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine offering 118 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. The diesel will be paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, and the fuel efficiency is 26.8 km/l – claimed to be the best in segment.

Launch is scheduled on 7th March 2019, and bookings are open for a deposit of Rs 31,000.
