Country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki launched ‘MS Dhoni inspired’ Alto Special Edition in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Both the regular Alto (LXi) and Alto K10 (LXi, VXi) will be available in this Special Edition, as a part of the company’s association with the upcoming movie “MS Dhoni – The Untold Story”, which is based on the life of limited over cricket skipper M S Dhoni.

Essentially, the Special Editions will be some custom additions to the exterior and the interior of the car, and will cost you Rs 16,777 with the Alto 800 and Rs 12,777 for the Alto K10. These include MS Dhoni signature decals and body graphics, seat covers with number #7 stitching, a music system with MP3, AUX, USB connectivity and speakers along with reverse parking sensors and a bar graph display. You also get a steering wheel cover, ambient lighting, a spoiler, a door sill guard and some promotional merchandise. The special editions are offered with a choice of two interior colour combinations – black with silver and red with blue.

“As iconic brands both are equally loved and recognised across languages and cultures across India. Alto is the only car brand to cumulatively sell 30 lakh units. M S Dhoni is a living legend of Indian cricket and is recognised for his dynamic leadership style in cricketing world. “The achievements and recognitions of both MS Dhoni and Alto make them the true stars of their own leagues,” Maruti Suzuki India Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) R S Kalsi said. Dhoni said he is having tough time with respect to promotions of his biopic.

“My part is done. I narrated the story and I did my bit. So now everything comes to the actors. Yes, I am feeling the pressure of the promotion that is going on either we have to travel or music part.
“Over all it is journey that I have been through right from the start. So it goes to childhood period when I was in school, how I was playing football and then shifted to cricket and that middle period I was struggling,” Dhoni said.
