Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet to debut at LA Auto Show

For those who think the S-Class Cabriolet isn’t plushier enough, there’s a good news. Mercedes is all set to unveil the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet on Nov 16th, at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show which opens its doors to the media today.

As the name S 650 suggests, it’s based on the already luxurious S-Class Cabriolet and is expected to pack a 6.0-litre V12 biturbo engine with a higher state of tune. Although the Maybach branded sedan has a longer wheelbase than the long wheelbase S-Class, this doesn’t seem to be the case with the upcoming S 650 Cabrio as it appears to carry over the wheelbase of the regular S-Class Convertible.

The display unit at the LA Auto Show will be a one-off, and as shown in the teaser video, only 299 units will be available for the customers.

The main features of the S 650 Cabriolet will most likely be the same as the regular S-Class Cabrio including the Burmester Surround Sound System, but expect some Maybach luxury elements which makes it unique. It might even give a tough competition to Rolls-Royce Dawn or Continental GT Speed Convertible from Bentley.
