Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS bookings open, to be available in 7 colors

Maruti Suzuki will be launching the performance version of the Baleno – the Baleno RS on Friday (March 3), and bookings have commenced on the NEXA website.

On the exterior, the car gets sporty bumper design both front and back, and side skirts. The headlamps appear to have been smoked-out, and there’s a different grille pattern. Alloys have been blacked-out as well. Rear end has an RS badge and a large spoiler.

On the inside, you’ll get SmartPlay Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay and navigation, voice command, steering mounted controls, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, Auto AC, push button start and pretty much everything from the top end Baleno. Standard safety features include rear parking sensors, reversing camera, dual airbags, ABS, seat belt pretensioners and so on.

The Baleno RS is powered by a 998 cc three-cylinder turbocharged BoosterJet engine, producing 75 kW (101 hp) of power @ 5500 rpm and 150 Nm of torque @ 1700 – 4500 rpm, paired to a 5 Speed manual transmission. Maruti has detuned the engine for fuel quality reasons. International spec model produces 111 hp and 170 Nm of torque. Compared to the regular Baleno petrol, the RS produces about 18 hp and 35 Nm more.

There are 7 colors to choose from – Fire Red, Premium Urban Blue, Premium Silver, Autumn Orange, Ray Blue, Pearl Arctic White, and Granite Gray.
